Develop and communicate department policies and procedures.Assist Director of Operations and Chair in planning for future equipment and facility needs/renovations.Conduct purchasing card transactions and reconcile monthly statements.Assist in organizing and hanging department exhibitions.Work with vendors to collect purchasing quotes and coordinate and accept deliveries.Expand and maintain vendor relations and contacts database.Work with purchasing to develop leases for equipment. Research, evaluate and direct departmental purchase needs and requests to the Director of Operations and assist in procurement as needed.Support faculty/student with equipment and materials.Work alongside of Digital Lab Manager in overseeing the department Filemaker database for both consistency and functionality.Supervise systematic inventory of consumables including: chemistry, seamless paper, bulbs, studio materials, and batteries.Complete annual performance reviews for full-time staff.Create, develop, and supervise team projects based on departmental needs.Work with Exhibitions and Maintenance Coordinator in project planning and insure tasks are completed as scheduled.Assist day/evening managers to mediate and resolve staffing concerns as they arise.Perform staff scheduling and the weekly preparation and maintenance of time sheets.Schedule and conduct regular meetings with Assistant Managers and Hub staff.Oversee Daytime and Evening Assistant Studio Managers in the supervision of full-time, part-time, and student worker staff and insure daily tasks are being met.Provide support to the Director of Operations as needed and assist with the general management of the department as it relates to the equipment and facilities. Research, evaluate and compile departmental purchase needs and requests. Manage the department equipment and consumables inventory. Insure regular facility/equipment maintenance procedures are met. Act as liaison to students and faculty regarding equipment and/or material needs. POSITION OVERVIEW: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the equipment hub, studio, and darkroom facilities and train and supervise staff that support these spaces.
